Who ya gonna call?

THE HOLY SPIRIT!
OK, the students may not understand the 1980s movie reference, but the Holy Spirit is the focus of our new series titled Ghostbusters. Our Levi Phillips spoke about living a spirit filled life, and trying to debunk the misconception that the holy spirit is only for very special moments or extremely holy people. It is Christ in us, that we should be going to with any questions we need help with.

A Prayer for the Ephesians
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious richeshe may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

GPS was a helpful acronym.
– Guarantee: If we’ve accepted Jesus Christ as our personal savior than we’re promised to have the holy spirit come and live in us.
– Power: Acts 1:8. We’re promised to have the power of the spirit in us. It empowers us to witness to others.
– Surrender: Are we surrendering our lives to Christ and the Holy Spirit to work through us to glorify God?
During small groups most of the conversations were about surrendering parts of their life they previously haven’t to God.
We discussed who the Holy Spirit is, and why we need him. How having the Holy Spirit to go to takes the pressure off of us.
*Reminder, students who want to attend Sky Zone with us Oct. 18 need to pay $25 to Mainstreet Church by this Sunday. Students will need dropped off at Sky Zone before 5:30 p.m. and picked up at 8 p.m. Sky Zone: 1600 Albon Rd. Holland, OH.
