Christmas Party Sunday!

It is our last Sunday night before taking a two-week break for Christmas and New Years. We’re so excited about how the first semester is gone and can’t wait to build off of it in 2018.

Sunday we’ll be celebrating Christmas with a White Elephant Gift Exchange, so students should bring a $5 valued gift wrapped if they want to participate. Also 6-8th graders are bringing something salty like chips, 9-10 graders are bringing something sweet, and 11-12 graders are bringing a two-liter to share.

We just wrapped up a two-week series called This Christmas. Week One Brian discussed how important it is to be generous. How it is much better to give a gift, then receive one.

A few things he mentioned, we don’t have to be a big financial sacrifice to be generous to someone. A few keys: 1) True generosity brings joy 2) True generosity is contagious 3) True generosity connects us with the heart of God.

Last Sunday Brent discussed how Jesus changed everything, and changes everything. He went through the story of Jesus birth and showed a video of the three wise men coming to see Jesus in amazement.

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
